ORLANDO, Florida — American Eagle Outfitters was an early adopter of Amazon's third-party parcel delivery service and now considers it a top performer as it executes a multi-carrier strategy for e-commerce service, company executives said during an industry conference on Tuesday. Amazon's ( NASDAQ: AMZN ) evolution into a provider of third-party logistics services has taken off in the past two years as the retailer fully commercializes in-house capabilities built to serve its own online customers. After quietly offering disparate freight, fulfillment and parcel services to shippers on a limited basis, the mega-retailer earlier this year launched Amazon Supply Chain Services as the go-to market brand stitching together all capabilities under one roof.
