Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOGL ) is approaching another important milestone in its artificial intelligence push. On September 23, Google DeepMind division head Koray Kavukcuoglu confirmed that the company is nearing the launch of Gemini 4. The new model is expected to feature more advanced artificial intelligence capabilities as the company seeks to strengthen its position in an increasingly competitive generative AI market. According to Kavukcuoglu, the model has entered the early stages of post-training, a phase focused on refining the model's performance, reliability, and ability to handle increasingly complex tasks. A strong model could help Google compete better against AI systems from OpenAI and Anthropic.
